iXperience x Camps Bay Village: A Study Abroad Stay to Remember
For six unforgettable weeks, Camps Bay Village welcomed the global iXperience community to our neighbourhood. As the Cape Town base for the iX Abroad program, we offered more than just accommodation, creating a setting where young professionals could feel at home while learning and living comfortably.
Students arrived from across the globe, ready to sharpen their skills and tackle internships. While they came for academics, they left with lasting friendships, a deeper sense of confidence and a unique connection to Camps Bay. That’s what makes Camps Bay Village proud to host iXperience. When the first group rolled their luggage through our gates, Camps Bay delivered its signature welcome: blue skies, mountain views and the Atlantic Ocean just steps away. Keys were handed over, apartments settled into and within hours students were out exploring their new surroundings.
We provided the essentials: fully furnished apartments, fast Wi-Fi, secure access and round-the-clock support from our on-site team. Each student also received a voucher to Mint Wellness Spa to ease into their stay with a moment of calm.
What started as a study program quickly evolved into a lifestyle experience. Camps Bay Village layout allowed students to recharge in private spaces and connect easily in communal areas. Conversations flowed naturally, friendships formed and by the end of week one, a true sense of connection had taken hold.
Lectures were held just across the road at our sister property, The Bay Hotel, a three-minute walk away. Each morning students strolled to class through palm-lined streets with ocean and mountain views in either direction.
The program was intense, covering bootcamps in fields like digital marketing, investment banking, consulting, software development and data science. Despite the demanding pace, students thrived throughout. Camps Bay offered space to breathe, reset and draw inspiration from the everyday surroundings.
After class, the city became a playground. Our location let students easily access the best of Cape Town without transport or long commutes. Camps Bay Village is within walking distance of cafés, convenience stores, co-working spots and the tidal pool.
Students made the most of their free time, starting mornings with beach runs or grabbing breakfast at a local favourite. They hiked Lion’s Head, surfed in Muizenberg and spent weekends exploring Cape Point and Boulders Beach. Some dined under the stars.
Others caught golden hour from their balconies or joined friends for sundowners on the beach.
One highlight was our ‘Padel Day’ at The Bay Hotel’s courts. It was a perfect mix of healthy competition, laughter and sunshine. These spontaneous moments added richness to the stay and reflected the vibrant spirit of our area; easy-going, friendly and full of life.
By the third week, students transitioned into internships with local businesses, NGOs, and international startups. Work became intense but Camps Bay’s environment made it manageable. Our apartments provided quiet spaces to focus and regroup. Evenings often meant pitch decks, teamwork or client briefings, balanced with beach walks, poolside breaks or dinner catch-ups with friends.

As the final week rolled around, the true value of the program became clear. The learning was valuable, but friendships, confidence and first-hand knowledge of Cape Town stood out most. Students learned local phrases, bonded over group dinners, swapped study stress for ocean dips and turned every shared moment into a memory. The final week was filled with celebration, laughter and heartfelt goodbyes.
