This role forms part of the Front Office team at Camps Bay Village, within the Village n Life hospitality group.
The Role
As Front Office Supervisor you’ll oversee the daily operations of the Front Office department, ensuring smooth guest arrivals, departures and overall guest satisfaction. You’ll support operational efficiency across reservations, housekeeping, maintenance and night audit while leading the front office team to maintain exceptional service standards throughout the property.
Key Responsibilities
– Supervise daily Front Office operations ensuring company standards are maintained
– Manage guest check-ins, departures and room allocations efficiently
– Handle guest queries and complaints professionally and timeously
– Ensure accurate billing, payments and daily credit checks
– Coordinate closely with Housekeeping and Maintenance to ensure rooms are guest-ready
– Conduct room checks and monitor public areas to maintain presentation standards
– Oversee shift handovers ensuring communication is detailed and accurate
– Monitor and maintain Front Office operating procedures and systems
– Assist with stock control and monthly ordering of stationery and guest supplies
– Train, induct and support Front Office staff and trainees
– Conduct regular team meetings and communicate operational updates
– Upsell hotel facilities, wellness offerings and food and beverage outlets
– Ensure all emergency procedures and health and safety standards are followed
– Report maintenance issues and faulty equipment promptly
– Support Duty Manager responsibilities when required
What We’re Looking For
– Matric with a relevant hospitality qualification or industry experience
– Previous experience in a similar Front Office supervisory role
– Strong OPERA system knowledge and experience
– Excellent communication and organisational skills
– Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
– Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced hospitality environment
– A proactive team player with strong leadership qualities
– Professional presentation and guest-focused approach
